The Enterprise-class supercarrier CVN-65, USS Enterprise, was the world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier She is the only one of this class to have ever been built.

Commissioned on 25 November 1961, the USS Enterprise, or "Big E," was essentially a floating base with a crew of 4600 people. It was the first nuclear-powered carrier to be produced and could stay at sea almost indefinitely.
She was involved in the Cuban blockade during the Cuban missile crisis, the Vietnam/Korean wars, and the Afghanistan and Iraq wars in the 2000s and decommissioned on 1 December 2012 after serving 51 consecutive years. It was the second oldest vessel for the U.S. Navy and has since undergone deactivation of its eight nuclear before being scrapped.
